Ann Prentiss

I first met Ann Prentiss when she was running the Gaia House and teaching students about native plants and herbal gardening at Mills College in Oakland. What started as research ended up as respite from my stresses in grad school. I originally went to her with questions but quickly realized that when I hung out with her and listened to her ramble plant facts and latin plant names that it took my mind off of everything stressing me out, so much so that I actually enjoyed wedding between classes. Ann is a quirky, sweet and passionate woman who knows SO much about plants. When she asked me to photograph her for her website (she is now freelance) I was beyond excited. I had such a wonderful time walking gardens that she maintains and chatting. Here are a few photos from our shoot.
