NYC

A few months ago I had the opportunity to take a quick ladies trip to New York City with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and some aunts. I was told if I buy a ticket then the rest is covered. How could I say no to that? I knew that this trip would be completely different than the type of trip my husband, Maverick, and I would take and that sounded fun to me. When Maverick and I went to New York last year for a friends wedding we stayed in an airbnb in Brooklyn for a few nights, then stayed with a friend in Queens. We filled our days walking around Central Park, the Village and doing our best to avoid Time Square. We went to strange plays in Chelsea and ate foods we'd never heard of. It was fantastic. So the idea to go back to New York and experience it in a new way, a way of traveling that isn't my normal fashion sounded like a fun surprise. We ended up staying in Time Square in The Westin- so already COMPLETELY different vibe. We went to nice restaurants, went to the top of Empire State Building, visited the 911 Memorial and even went on the  double decker tour bus! We really embraced being "tourists" and it was a lot of fun.  And on our last evening in Manhattan we fulfilled one of my childhood dreams, literally! We went to Lion King on Broadway and it lived up to my lifelong expectations. The costumes and set design alone were worth it, but it was so much more than that too.
It was all in all a really amazing trip and I got to spend some great time with family.
