Post Wedding talk. It is easy to rush home after a Saturday wedding and start processing images and finding other tasks needing to be done before the weekend is over. Maverick and I both have a hard time slowing down. If we aren’t working then we’re building something for our yard, gardening or cleaning (stuff we enjoy but is nonetheless phsyical and exhausting). Whenever we do find the time to go on a motorcycle ride, hike with the dog, or “ our version of chill” that is a conscious choice that we have to remind ourselves we need to create the time for.
Table Mountain is a very popular Northern California hotspot in the Springtime. The flat mountain top comes alive with Lupin, Poppies, Glueseed, Red maids, and so many more wonderful native wildflowers. Most locals try and make a point to catch the blooms this time of year because it is such a local gem. A few weeks ago Maverick and I spent the afternoon hiking around with family. Glad to have caught this flowers in their short time to shine.
I cannot tell you how much I'm looking forward to some warm days by the river. Any excuse to be outside and enjoy the beauty of our area is good for me. This is from autumn with my man and our dog, we're both learning how to fly fish and although the Sacramento River isn't the best spot to catch some fish it's only about a 5-minute drive from our house and a good place to practice our casting. Come on Spring, we're ready for you!
These images are a tad on the old side. They are from Autumn 2016 when a group of friends and I rode our motorcycles to Bandit Town to see Bill Callahan play a super small show. Bandit Town is this wonderful and weird venue in the middle (literally in the middle) of California. I believe it used to be a western movie set and then these rad ladies bought it and turned it into a venue. This was not my first time going to an event at Bandit Town, I had gone to a big music event for Halloween the year before.
So this year we rode our bikes out and camped on this great big field and listened to the incredible Bill Callahan, woke up feeling inspired we decided to take the long route home through Yosemite in the middle of Autumn. Bucket list CHECK. Yosemite is so magical anytime of year but riding through, catching the burning red leaves as they slowly drifted through the air was unreal. I only brought my 35mm film camera and took a handful of snaps. Here they are.
