My favorite photo of my parents is an image of them in all their 80's glory- short shorts and leg warmers- in front of their place early in their relationship. Dogs by their sides and my mom awkwardly waving while lovingly looking at my dad who is grinnning at the camera. On the back of the 4x6 photograph in my mom's script reads, "Us & our place". If there is one object that sums up how I feel about engagement shoots and what I want to capture in my images of my couples it is this old photograph. I want to create images that act as a bookmark for this time in your life. Not just a cute image for your save your date, but an image that will last and memoralize your love and the life you live NOW. As much as I love home sessions, and think they are able to capture this feeling and moment in your life best, I think the same feelings and representation of you as a couple could be achieved out in the world as well. But it is with this intention that I approach each and everyone of my engagement shoots. Sweet, timeless, you.
