Upper park family session

Fall in Chico is one of my favorite seasons to photograph outside.  The light is so dreamy and soft during golden hour that I am very drawn to Upper Bidwell Park.  That’s where I wanted to shoot this playful family session.  It’s a great time of year to get create some photos that are perfect for the upcoming Holiday card season, but also to create great memories.

At family shoots I like to encourage my clients to interact with each other, to be playful and ideally, years from now, when they see the images that we make together that it will truly be a memory of fun and love on a beautiful afternoon, just being together, not necessarily being photographed.

Let’s be honest, we all are a little nervous to be in front of a camera lens, but I love making my subjects feel comfortable and to laugh, even if it’s at me feeling awkward too.
